Fed: Police called in to find flu plane passengers
BRISBANE, April 30 AAP - Police have been asked to help track down two Queensland passengers
who were on a flight with New Zealand school children diagnosed with swine flu.
Seven Queenslanders were on board the Air New Zealand flight which arrived in Brisbane
on Saturday.
So far five have been identified and cleared of having swine flu.
Health authorities said on Thursday police were seeking the remaining two.
Queensland authorities have tested 21 people for swine flu, but to date there have
been no confirmed cases.
Thermal scanners were in place but not active at the Brisbane, Gold Coast and Cairns
international airports on Thursday, to check passengers for fever as they disembark.
Airport checks were stepped up overnight as the World Health Organisation raised its
flu alert level to phase five out of six, signalling that a pandemic was "imminent".
