Qld: Long confession on $10 note

BRISBANE, Jan 12 AAP - Police recorded the confession of a man accused of the Childers
backpacker hostel murders on the back of a $10 note, a court was told today.

Two Special Emergency Response Team officers involved in the capture of Robert Paul
Long told his committal hearing today the 37-year-old had confessed to the fire after
he was shot by police.

Long had allegedly said: "I am dying anyway, I started that fire."
